JourneyToSalesforce – Build a career in Salesforce Ecosystem

Do you want to work on a platform that offers the latest technology suite? Do you want to gift yourself a promising career? Do you want your paycheck to be a little heavier than it used to be?

Without a doubt, I know your answer is a big YES. Now you must be asking yourself how to get all this? Well, this article should help you to get the answer to this question as well.

Why you should learn Salesforce Technology?

Let’s get to the point, ever heard of Salesforce? No, then this is the time to do some market research you would be amazed to see that Salesforce is among the top technologies alongside AI and Machine Learning, with a higher pay grade.

Recently Forbes published a list of Glassdoor’s Top 12 Tech Jobs With The Best Career Opportunities which lists Salesforce Developer on #2 position. This itself gives you enough reason to make a transition to Salesforce.

What’s even better is, the demand for Salesforce skills is very high in the market at the moment. As per the IDC study, there would be 3.3 million new jobs in the Salesforce ecosystem by 2022

From where do i start?

The most common question I get from you guys is, how to learn the platform and be a part of the Salesforce ecosystem. Thankfully the platform is very easy to learn and anyone (literally anyone) can learn this platform irrespective of educational background or previous IT experience.

To help you all get started with the platform, last year Salesforce launched a new program in India called “Journey To Salesforce”. This program is specifically designed for the people who do not have any Salesforce background and want to make a transition to Salesforce.

How can #JourneyToSalesforce transform your career?

#JourneyToSalesforce is open for everyone program and it is completely free. By enrolling in it, you will start your Salesforce learning journey from very basics by learning all the platform fundamentals. The duration of this program is 3 months. In these 3 months, you will be going through multiple modules, implementing multiple projects and enhancing your Salesforce skills day by day. After successful completion of the program, you will have good knowledge of the Salesforce platform and technologies involved.

You can enroll in the program from here:

All of these modules or trails are hosted on Salesforce’s own free educational platform “Trailhead”. There are many modules/trails/projects on the trailhead to help you learn the Salesforce platform and all the different technologies involved. An individual can go through any of the module or trails which interests him. However, for the JourneyToSalesforce program, Salesforce has already curated the list of modules or trails that you need to go through. Amazing, isn’t it?

I am not a developer, can I still enroll in this program and enhance my skills?
Of course yes, the Salesforce platform offers equal technical suits for non-developer (admin) people as well which you can use to solve the complex business problems without writing any code.

I have always been a developer, should I enroll in this program?
Again yes, the Salesforce platform has the modern technologies and frameworks, it doesn’t matter if you are a backend developer or UI developer. Being a developer myself, I can assure you that you would be working on the most advanced frameworks in Salesforce to solve business scenarios.

Is that all? What about employment opportunities or job fairs?

Great question, after all, you are learning this new technology for a reason, for a better career, so you deserve a chance to get interviewed. The good news is, Salesforce also organize an employer connect after the program where many companies come under a roof to meet all the candidates who had enrolled in #JourneyToSalesforce program and had completed their journey.

Some stats to get you excited:

  • Salesforce started this program last year. Total ~500 people enrolled in the journey, ~50 people appeared in employer connect and 30 of them got job offers.
  • This year, already ~4000 people enrolled and completed ~25000 badges.

Note: Securing a job completely depends on how well you are following the journey, and how well you perform in employer connect. It also depends on the employer’s requirements. The program puts you on the right path to learn Salesforce and make your transition smoother.
